Pom

POMS Kick!!!!

If you love dancing, performing, and having fun then poms is for you. Our pom squads will perform a pre-game routine to get the boys "pumped up" before the game. The pom squads also perform during halftime entertaining the crowd with high energy rountines that include the latest dance moves to the hottest music. If you are interested in being part of the halftime fun then poms is perfect for you.

General Season Schedule

This years regular Cheer and Pom season begins on July 12th and runs until late October with games being played each weekend. All squads cheer and perform one pre-season practice game and nine regular season games right along with our Football teams. Cheer and Pom squads continue along with our Football teams through the playoffs in October and hopefully into the Super Bowl games in November.

Practice

Our practices begin outdoors 2 or 3 days a week during the summer months at variety of different parks in Cary. Once school starts in August, our practices move indoors 2 days a week. Day and times are chosen by each coach. Cheer squads will be practicing indoors at Lake Barrington Field House, and Pom squads will be practicing at the Cary schools.

Once we get closer to our Competition dates, coaches may increase practices to 3 days a week. Coaches will hand out all this information prior to our season starting. Our Kindergarten Mascot squads, will only practice one night a week and their practices do stay outdoors.

Competitions & Family Performance Night

We compete in at least one Competition in October which can earn a bid to Compete in the IRCA State Competition the first weekend in December. Some of our squads will elect to compete in 2 Competitions (additional costs involved,) which can also lead to the State competition in December. Squads qualifying for the State competition practice through November. Coaches will hand out competition information at the start of season.

The end of the season offers all of our Cary Junior Trojan families the opportunity to be dazzled by the performance of each cheer and pom squad at our annual Family Performance Night.

The Cary Junior Trojan Cheer and Pom programs are members of the Illinois Recreational Cheer Association (IRCA), a premier Cheer and Pom youth recreational league in the Midwest. You can learn more about our league at www.recreationalcheer.com.
